About this policy
This policy describes how Rahul Kumar Gupta, trading as SRS Tech ("we", "our", "us"), of Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, handles information in Takewell, an iOS app we develop and publish, and on the Takewell pages of srstech.in.
Using Takewell means you accept what this policy describes. If you would rather not, please do not use the app.
Your video and audio
Takewell records video and audio with your camera and microphone, then runs an on-device speech enhancer over the audio to remove room noise and reverb.
- Takewell records, enhances, and stores every take on your device.
- Takewell sends no take to us or to anyone else. There is no server to send one to.
- You decide when a take goes to Photos or to another app. Until then it stays in the app's local storage.
- Working files from a take sit in temporary storage, and Takewell clears them as you record the next one.
- Deleting the app removes every take, script, and setting stored on the device.
Captions and transcription
When you turn captions on, Takewell transcribes the take on your device with Apple's on-device speech recognition. Your audio is not sent to Apple, to us, or to anyone else to be transcribed. The text stays with the take on your phone, and Takewell uses it to burn captions into a video you export.
Scripts and the take library
Scripts you write or paste, and the takes you keep, live in the app's local database on your device. We hold no copy of either, and nobody else can read them.
Script sync, for Takewell Pro. If you subscribe to Pro and you are signed in to iCloud, your scripts sync between your own iPhones through your private iCloud database, using Apple's CloudKit. That copy sits in your iCloud account under your Apple Account, subject to Apple's terms. It never reaches a server of ours, we cannot read it, and Takewell still has no backend and no account of its own.
- Scripts only. Your video and audio takes never sync. They stay on the device that recorded them.
- What syncs: the script title and body, and the dates it was created and last edited. Nothing else.
- Switching it off: sync follows your iCloud account, so you turn it off in iOS Settings → your Apple Account → iCloud, or by not subscribing to Pro. There is no separate switch inside the app.
- If your subscription lapses: nothing is deleted. Every script already on each device stays there and stays editable. New edits simply stop travelling between your phones.
Anonymous usage analytics
Takewell counts how the app gets used so we can see which screens confuse people and which features go untouched. We process those events through PostHog (US region).
- What we send: screen names, event names, and small non-identifying properties, such as whether a take had captions, how long a recording ran, or which plan was tapped on the paywall.
- What we never send: your video, your audio, your script text, your caption text, your name, your email, or any account identifier. Takewell has no account, so there is nothing to tie an event to a person.
- No profiles, no replay. The app never calls PostHog's identify function, creates no person profiles, and runs with session replay switched off. No recording of your screen is ever captured.
- You can switch it off. Settings → Privacy turns analytics off and the app stops sending anything. It is on when you install the app.
- No cross-app tracking. This is first-party product data. We do not share it with data brokers, do not join it with anyone else's data, and do not follow you across other companies' apps or sites, so Takewell shows no App Tracking Transparency prompt.
We declare this in Apple's App Privacy label as Product Interaction (Usage Data), not linked to your identity and not used for tracking.
Subscriptions and payment
Takewell Pro is an auto-renewable subscription, $14.99 a month or $79.99 a year with a 7-day free trial on the annual plan, sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system on StoreKit 2.
- Apple handles billing, receipts, and payment details. We never see or store a card number.
- Takewell checks your entitlement on the device against Apple's signed transaction data. It runs no receipt server.
- Manage or cancel any time in iOS Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions.
The website and the waitlist
If you join the waitlist at srstech.in/takewell, we receive the email address you submit and the first name if you give one.
- The entry lands in a Google Sheet through a Google Apps Script endpoint, and we use it for one message when Takewell reaches the App Store.
- Cloudflare Turnstile and a hidden honeypot field filter out automated submissions before anything reaches the sheet.
- Ask us and we will remove your entry. See section 12.
The website also counts anonymous page views through Vercel Web Analytics. It sets no cookies and does not identify visitors.
How we use this information
- Waitlist email: the single launch notification, and nothing else.
- Anonymous usage events: deciding what to fix and what to build next.
- Subscription status: unlocking Takewell Pro on your device.
We do not sell your data, run ads against it, or build a profile of you.

Retention and deletion
Takes, scripts, and captions stay on your device until you delete them or delete the app. We hold no copy, so there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf. If you have Pro and script sync is running, a copy of your scripts also sits in your own iCloud account: deleting a script on one of your iPhones removes it from the others, and you can remove the rest through iOS Settings → your Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
Anonymous usage events sit in PostHog under its own retention policy. They are grouped under a per-install identifier that PostHog generates on first launch. It identifies a phone, never a person: we never call PostHog's identify, and Takewell has no accounts, so nothing links that identifier to a name. Settings → Privacy shows you the identifier with a copy button. Send it to support@srstech.in and we will delete the usage data recorded against it. Switching analytics off in Settings stops any further events.
We keep waitlist entries until the launch email goes out, or until you ask us to remove yours, whichever comes first.
Children's privacy
Takewell is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child submitted the waitlist form, tell us and we will delete the entry.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. A waitlist entry is the only personal data we ever hold.
To remove your entry or exercise any other right, write to support@srstech.in.
Changes to this policy
Each change to this policy updates the date at the top of the page. Using Takewell after a change means you accept the revised policy.
